Jean Shorts

Ok so I love jean shorts and lucky for me (and you!) there are so many different designers, styles and washes out there right now for summer! You can wear your jean shorts very casually with a swimsuit, or dress them up with a silk tank and wedges for a night out on the town.
Below are a couple of my favorites, they’re all great because they are already “pre-rolled” for you. I’ve had some not to great experiences with making my own cut-offs and having them fray out beyond repair.
7 For All Mankind
7 For All Mankind ($149) in  the 3 Hazine wash blend. I love the wash of these, it’s not too dark and not too light. Also, the worn look on this pair by 7 For All Mankind does not take it too far.
Rachel Roy
Rachel Roy Sabbath Wash ($59), ok these are great because of their length and cut. The kind of bubble around you hips like a lot of other dressier shorts are doing right now, plus they have perfectly positioned tears and fading. I think you can take this pair either way.
Joes Jeans
Joes Jeans Denim Rollup ($150), these have those really finite fade lines, because of this you can tell that the bleaching was done completely intentionally. Plus, I love when you can see the orange stitching on denim.
Paige Denim
Lastly, this pair by Paige Denim called the Jimmy Jimmy 2 Shorts ($129) are different from the others because they are so dark. You can really dress these up with sandals and a triangle top for a fresh but carefree look!
If you’re looking to dress up any pair of jean shorts remember to take advantage of the belt-loops and pair a colorful skinny belt on top of them!

Annie Griffin The Next Big Thing

Have you been looking for those simple, classic, timeless pieces? The ones that are worth the money because they’ll never go out of style? The kind of wearable art that allows you to channel you’re innermost Audrey Hepburn and walk down the street feeling like you’re in vintage couture?
If  you have been on this wild goose chase, then your search is up. I have found the best new thing to happen to sophisticated women everywhere: Annie Griffin. Annie is a new designer who just released the Spring Collection of her self-named (Annie Griffin) Collection. The Spring Collection available now in five stores around the southeast (named below), features beautiful silk tops, high-waisted skirts, cocktail dresses, and so much more. One of the best things about Griffin’s collection, is the color palette she chosen. The colors of her spring collection, complement one another and in turn will compliment you. No one can go wrong with pale greens, yellows, navy and white.
A few of the spring pieces from Annie Griffin:
Navy and White Tie Skirts with White and Cobalt Stretch Tanks
Long Maxi Racerback Dress
Annalise Racerback Dress
Butterfly Sleeve Blouse (Comes in 3 Colors)
If Griffin hasn’t pulled you down her rabbit hole yet, then just wait and see what she has coming up for the Fall. I’m talking about velvets, high-waisted pants, blazers, one-shoulder dress, and more. Old pictures of her mother from the 70’s inspired her Fall Collection. Griffin wanted to give women pieces that embody the dramatic styles and silhouettes of that era. Even her fall color choices were based around the older, neutral tones of the photographs, which give the clothes an authentic vintage feel.
Meg Dress (Meg is her mom! Love it!)
Analise Dress
Robinson Dress
Eliza Ruffle Top and Brooklyn Mini
Paxton Blazer and Penny Skirt
Sue Ellen Blouse and Madison Pant
These are only a few of the incredible items from Annie Griffin’s Spring and Fall Collections. Both have something for everyone, from a college student, to working women, to bridal parties. Griffin’s line encompasses what it means to be the modern women- feeling comfortable with what you’re wear and knowing you that you look great in it. Griffin knocks feminine chic out of the park with only her first two collections. With spring and fall under her belt, I expect to see a lot more of Annie Griffin and so should you. To learn more about Annie, how she got her start or see more of her clothes, check out her blog!
Clothes from Annie Griffin are available at the following boutiques:
-Heery’s Clothing in Athens, GA
-Isabella in Memphis, TN
-Laura Kathryn in Birmingham, AL
-Oak Hall in Memphis, TN
-Susanna’s in Chattanooga, TN.

Prom 2010

If I could show you now what I wore to prom my sophomore year, you most likely wouldn’t take anymore fashion advice from me. However, now that I am older and wiser, I can tell you with full certainty that these are some of the dress you should be wearing to your prom. If I could go back and strip myself of the pink frock I wore, I would.
Prom night, is for  messing up in every area but your clothes, so take these dresses to heart. At least you’ll be able to look back on your prom pictures (despite the awkward pose or bad date) and say I looked good. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for myself hah!
Beaded Collar Dress La Femme
This Beaded Collar Dress from La Femme ($278), is gorgeous. The back dips low and the beaded neckline is incredible. Making a classic statement in white.
Royal Blue Faviana Couture
This long royal blue dress from Faviana Couture ($278), also has a killer drop in the back, with beading that goes all the way down.
Chris Benz Shangri La Dress
This Shangri La inspired dress from Chris Benz ($1,175) is for the more fashion forward prom queen. It’s blue hued rough lace look is great for the more laid back prom.
Halston Heritage One-Shoulder Gown
I absolutely love this long tunic look for prom, this dress is Halston Heritage ($545)  The one-shoulder makes it great for prom, all it need are a few colorful or gold accessories. Moreover, because it is black you can wear it again and again.
Mara Hoffman Beaded Mini Kimono
Lastly, this Mara Hoffman Beaded Mini Kimono ($418) is sassy. The free-flowing nature of this dress makes it perfect for an outdoor prom with a pair of black strappy sandals.

Workout Chic

Just because you have to sweat doesn’t mean you can’t look awesome doing it. I am a huge workout girl, and I’m the first to admit that a pair of great running shorts can make it all the easier to “get there” and do it.
There are the standard athletic company brands like NikeAdidas and Reebok, that have been doing a great job lately with creating cuter, more feminine workout clothes. Additionally, Adidas now carries a Stella McCartney for Adidas line. The y have great fashion forward golf skirts, and tennis wear.
My next favorite place for athletic gear is Lululemon, they carry amazing yoga gear and athletic accessories like yoga mats, water bottles and power balls too.
Anyway the point is, you don’t have to be in a baggy tee-shirt and old Soffe shorts anymore when you go to workout. Now there are fashionable, affordable options that will make you look like the sporty fashionista you are.
Lululemon Run Speed Shorts $54
Stella for Adidas Tennis Performance Dress $150
Stella for Adidas Golf Performance Skirt $90
Lululemon Black Quilted Yoga Pants
Lululemon Charcoal Sweatshirt
Stella for Adidas Cover up Run Singlet $80

Stackable Rings

I love stackable rings. They can range from fancy to edgy and cheap to really expensive. But one of the best things about stackable rings are how you can give and receive them. They are great to start collecting, one for a birthday, graduation, anniversary, Christmas, etc. Once you get a collection started you will not want to stop.
Here are a few that I’ve seen recently that I think are incredible:
W 10th Gemstones
These are the Cabochon bands from W 10th Gemstones, they run $230 a piece but they are available in nine different colors.
Juicy Couture
Juicy Couture Flex Stackable Rings ($58), these rings are very dainty so they look great when worn all together. Also the small heart key lock accessory adds more to the rings.
Gorjana
Gorjana gold stackable rings ($145), this set of seven rings comes with all seven. I love the etched texture of these rings and the gold is really vibrant.
Urban Posh Forrest
Each of three gold vermeil rings ($135 for the set) features a different stone for a striking look. Citrine, smoky topaz, and aqua hydro quartz stones stack up on your finger for an undeniably trendy look.
Marco Bicego
Lastly, this Marco Bicego set of rings are 18k gold and they are sold individually for $750. They are by far the most expensive set of stackable rings I have posted about, but sometimes the occasion calls for something like this!

Do The Bandeau

Bandeau tops are everywhere. You can find them under sheer lace tops, worn as flashy eye-catching  bras or simply as tops alone. Depending on the cut of your bandeau, these tops are great to wear by themselves, especially if the weather is hot! Just think of these bandeau tops as extra cropped tops!
Regardless of how you chose to wear your bandeau, the point is you should own one. So here are four very different styles, colors brands and price points of these trendy tops. Hopefully you can find one that fits your personal style.
Forever 21
This tribal print navy and turquoise bandeau top from Forever 21 ($2.90), is perfect for under a sheer white tank! Moreover, if you’re on the fence about this trend because this top is under $3 you can easily take the look for a test drive with no fear!
Roxy
You all know how I feel about hardware, not only is it one of the biggest trends of this season, I personally love it! Hence this Roxy Shore Break Bandeau ($24.50). The stripped pattern is awesome and who can’t love the zippered front?
Top Secret
This Top Secret, Tribute Sequin Bandeau top is perfect for a night out on the town. Surprisingly the the top is only $50 which is great for sequins, it’s also available in black!
One Teaspoon
Lastly, this mutli-color sequin top from One Teaspoon ($202), has an amazing sweetheart neckline and comes down farther on your stomach than the others. It would look great with a pair of black matchstick jeans!
