Tie-dye: A No Brainer For Your Style and Budget

What’s in for spring? Tie-dye. Tie-dye it’s not just the dress code for Woodstock anymore. Tie-dye has been making a come back in a big way. Expect to see tie-dyed patterns in lots of contrasting, but complementary colors this spring.

Blumarine is leading the way with their Spring runway looks, but if that’s not in your price range…no problem. Tie-dye can be cheaply acquired from stores like Forever21 and Oldnavy as tunics, dresses, cover-ups, or even simple accent pieces. A tie-dyed scarf can easily brighten up your favorite tee-shirt or cardigan, giving you a bright and cheery look. If you're looking for something a little in the middle price range check out this Robbi & Nikki embellished tie-dye top available at Nordstroms. Or this Ella Moss haze blouse available from shopbop.

If your bank account can't afford any withdrawals, make your own tie-dye! Tie-dying is an easy and fun project to do at home. With a quick stop at your local fabric store and a white tee-shirt, you can easily create a unique one of kind piece to add your closet. Pick up as many colors of dye as you want, my recommendation, pick two colors that are on opposite sides of the color wheel from one another— such as, blue and yellow. These contrasting colors pop off of one another, complementing your tee-shirt and you.

Tie-dying at home is a cheap and inexpensive way to add a little punch to your look. No matter how adventurous your personal style may be, there is a level of tie-dye for you. Bottom-line, tie-dye is a great pattern to add to your closet for a completely carefree, fresh look this Spring.
